Gene Expression Profiling (RNA in - DATA out)

NMC now offers a new and user-friendly Expression Profiling "RNA in-DATA out" service for researchers who would like to obtain microarray data in their projects, without having to get involved in the experimental procedures. .

In brief, the researcher provides total RNA from the relevant samples to be examined, together with a description of the RNA (species, concentation etc) and a list of the correlations to be done. The NMC will follow a stepwise procedure:

1. Quality Control of the RNA samples (Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer)
2. Sample labelling (relevant method to be chosen in agreement with researcher), incl post-labeling QC of the incorporation of label.
3. Hybridization (manual or automated on a hybridization station); method and type of microarray slides will be chosen in agreement with the researcher)
4. Scanning, incl Image Analysis and Deposition of Microarray Raw Data in the BASE database

The researcher will be charged for the consumables and the working hours (NOK 650 per hour). Based upon the results of the QC procedures (step 1 and 2), the researcher will be contacted in cases of inadequate quality on the RNA or labeling reactions, with an option to end the task.
The total price will depend on the number of samples, the type of microarray slides, the labeling metod etc. Upon request, we will give an estimate of the costs.

The service will be given for the following microarray platforms:

• Affymetrix Chip
• Agilent Technologies
• Illumina Sentrix Bead System 
• Nimblegen
